This blog is about the death of my baby brother George Raymond Van Ry who was taken from us at the age of 24 by three brain tumors. We lost him on May 2, 2010. Writing is my way of coping and sharing is my way of reaching out to others who may be grieving as well.

He Ain't Heavy...he's my brother
Original post: September 26, 2010
I am the oldest of five children. Three of them are boys. On May 2nd of this year, we lost George, the youngest and it tore a hole in our world. Today, though...today is special. Richard is 32 today. I share a bond with all my brothers. Richard and I are the two who were born in Brisbane. There have been so many ups and downs and for a long time, I feared I would lose my Aussie brother. He pulled through and I am so proud. With tremendous loss hanging over us, we cling to one another. While we mourn for George, we celebrate the closeness that we still have. Happy birthday Richard/Richie/Dickie! I love you!!!
